Studebaker Lark 1960 Description
Please scroll all the way to the bottom of this listing where you can view over 40 additional photos of this car. If thephotos do not appear, please email me and I'll send you a link. This is a 1960 Studebaker Lark VI Convertible - The car has a six cylinder engine and three speed manual transmission "3 on the tree". The car is in nice running condition - good brakes, all lights, turn signals, wipers and horn work...even the original AM radio picks up a few stations.
The car is currently registered and insured in the state of Florida and is driven weekly. The car went thru an amateur restoration about 12 years ago bythe previous owner including new paint, interior, top etc. The bottom of the car was also undercoated at this time.
Exterior: The body is clean and has no dents. There is a scratch on the back panel that has began to rust and there is some small bubbling on the rocker panels, otherwise the car is rust free - floors and trunk pan are excellent. The power top works fine and the top itself is in good condition with no rips, tears or holes. The back window is cloudy. There is a dent in both pieces of stainless trip on each front fender where the doors have bumped into the stainless when opened too far. There is also some pitting on the chrome trip on the top of both doors. The remainder of the chrome on the car...bumpers, grille, light bezels, wheel covers are all in very good condition. Windshield has scratches from wiper blades - the rest of the glass is nice with no cracks. The car has reproduction (original style) BF Goodrich Silvertown bias ply tires that are in good, usable condition. If I was keeping the car I would eventually change to wide whitewall steel belted tires.
Interior: Seats, carpet and dash pad are in nice condition with no rips. The drivers door panel has a rip that is about the size of a quarter. The stainless trip on the same door panel snagged on the windlace at some point and has come loose and bent.
Mileage is shown at 52,100 but has probably turned over and is most likely 152,000. May be a bit higher by the time the same is complete....I'm still enjoying and driving the car.
Also included with the car is a factory shop manual, owners manual, brochure and a few period magazine ads. Studebakers have great club support thru the Studebaker Drivers Club and there are a great deal of parts vendors dedicated to the make...parts for Studebakers are in great (and affordable) supply.
If you need to ask permission with a family member about buying this car, please do so before bidding. If you are not local pleasecontact a shipping company for an estimate before bidding.
