Buick Skylark 1970 Description
1970 Buick Skylark Custom Convertible. 350. Auto. AC. Loaded. No Reserve Reasonable Rides and Rods presents a 1970 Buick Skylark Custom Convertible for your consideration. This Skylark is loaded with options including: automatic trans. AC. power windows. power seat. power steering. power disc brakes. power top and power antenna. It’s convertible season. so the perfect time to enjoy this nice Skylark. Paint/Body/Top The car was re-painted the original Cranberry Red about 15 years ago. We buffed the paint and it has a decent shine. but we consider it to be driver quality. The car could be really taken to the next level with a re-spray. There are some chips and scratches and a couple of small pops on the left rear fender lip. All of the panels line up well and the doors open and close with no sagging. The firewall. floors and trunk are all solid. The trim and bumpers do have some pitting. but are original to the car. The convertible top is brand new and has the rear glass window. It also has a new top motor. so the top works great. Based on some of the documentation for the car. it spent most of its life in Florida. Overall. the exterior presentation is very nice. Engine/Trans The engine is a 350 with a 4 barrel carb backed by a Turbo 350 automatic transmission. The engine runs great and starts on a turn of the key. Based on the documentation that we have for the car. the engine was rebuilt and has about 20k miles since. There is an occasional drip of oil under the car after sitting for a while. The transmission performs flawlessly and shifts through the gears as it should. The car has dual exhaust with chrome tips. Suspension/Brakes The suspension was recently rebuilt from front to back. The front and rear control arm bushings look new. The car drives exceptional and tracks down the road straight. The power steering works great. It has front disc brakes and has had a brake booster and master cylinder upgrade. The car stops as it should. Interior The interior presentation is nice. The seats have been recovered in a two tone pattern. All of the panels are in good condition. All of the gauges. lights and switches work. There is aftermarket stereo. but we have the original radio panel that can go back in the dash. The dash pad does have a small crack on the passenger side. The car is equipped with AC that has been converted to 134A. and it blows cold. Overall This Skylark convertible is a great cruiser. As mentioned. the car was restored at some point in Florida. It has held up well. it runs good. and everything works on the car. You can drive the car and enjoy it while continuing to make improvements. Drop the top and if it gets too hot. just turn on the AC and drive in comfort. We do have some documentation from previous owners including: build sheet. owner’s manual. original Skylark brochure and an appraisal from 2000. Reasonable Rides and Rods is located in Lewisville.
