The firewall “Cowl tag”, ith its numerical codes, s important in confirming Z28 authenticity and this car was born in Norwood, hio, he second week of February, 971 (code 02B) so it has the Z28 verification stamp “Z28.19” on the tag. The “factory correct” engine compartment houses its original, orn with, Matching Numbers”, 50/330 HP, olid lifter engine block with stamp “V0125CGP” (engine built Jan. 25, 971, 28 350 cu inch) and matching partial VIN stamp. The engine Block cast number is 3970010 and the cast date “A-151” (January 15, 971). The car has the correct 10 bolt, .73 ratio Posi-traction rear end (CG G 231 1 W). The Muncie, -21, lose ratio 4 Speed (3925661) stamped “P1M13B” with original Muncie shifter is date code correct for 1971 and may be a warranty replacement. The car’s body is very straight, ust free and repainted in its original Cranberry Red (code 75) with Black Stripes (code .19) and is in very good condition. The undercarriage is better than new, nd is in clean and pristine condition, ith correct red oxide painted pans, ew brake lines, lutch, hocks, ody mounts, xhaust pipes and suspension parts. The high quality interior is Black (code 775) with correct one piece bucket seats in vinyl upholstery, oor panels, eadliner, ash and carpets all in exceptional condition. The gauges, ights, nd accessories work, orn does not. A small number of Z28s were built in 1971 (4,862) and this car features power steering, spoke sport steering wheel, enter console, houlder belts, ap belts, ower brakes with front discs and correct style 5 spoke factory wheels with F-60/15 Goodyear Polyglass tires.
