Dodge Charger 1970 Description
This Charger was found in a barn in Colorado about 4 years ago where it had been sitting since 1983. It still has its 1983Colorado emission sticker on the windshield andthe 1983 registration slip in the console ! The color combination isawesome and will be absolutelystunningwhen restored. It is a real B5 blue white interior 440 Dana 60 4spd Track pack car. It has its fender tag still in place as well as its build sheet that was found under the seat . When found the original motor & transwas missing . I was toldit now has a fresh rebuilt 68 440 hp motor. Runs and sounds great . It has headers and new exhaust pipes and mufflers all the way back but the orig exhaust tips are missing. It has a new clutch and a new heater core. The car has its orig factory wheels with some old Montgomery wards bias G78 bias ply front tires and some Mach 60 G 60 14 bias tires on the back . These are the tire that were on it when found. They appear to be in decent shape and I don't see any cracking on the side walls. This car must have sit inside most of its life because all the glass appears to be original with all the factory markings . The rubber around the windshield and around the wing windows is in remarkable condition as well as the window felts for their age and do not need replaced. The windows all roll up and down nice as they should and the doors open and shut nice as well as the trunk and hood . Everything seems to line up nice and panel fit looks good . The car has factory power steering and brakes but I think the booster is bad because you have to push hard on the pedal when stopping. The car is pretty much rust free other than the lower rear quarters and rear valance below the bumper has some rust and bubbles as far as I can see. The underneath of the car has what appears to be the original factory or dealer applied under coating . I see no rust in any of the floor pans or trunk floor or under the doors or any of the pinch welds on the hood doors or truck lid . The trunk floor does have some minor surface rust under the mat but does not need replaced . The worse part about the car is that someone probably back in the late 70s took a can of black spray paint and painted the engine compartment and inside the trunk . Probably a Chevy guy that didn't like that stuff body color! I seen this done a lot in the 70s on Mopars .All the head light doors heater defroster wiiperslights everything appears to be in working order. All the gauges work except for the factory tic toc tach and theam radio. The car shows about 42 k on the speedo. Can not say if this is correct but by the look of all the rubber around the glass and door it might be . The dash pad is perfect to with no cracks and thedash paneland wood grain is still real nice and all the letters that say wipers heater etc all still look real good to. The gauges are still real nice and easy to read. Most of these old mopars that stuff is usally wore off . That also makes me think mileage is original ? This is a real solid old charger but it is a 45 year old car soits not perfect in anyway . The paint isstill shinny for the most part but does have its share ofsmall dings and scratches . The vinyl top is original too. The carpet appears to be original as with most of the interior as far as I can tell . One other thing someone took the 354s out of the Dana and put in 488s !Its fast and fun around town butnot good forhighway cruzing speeds. Those will have to be changed back forhighway use.The car is sold as is with no warrantys or refunds . I tried to describe the car as best I can but would recommend you inspect in person if you have any concerns before bidding . Thank you for your interest and please contact me with any other questions . I want you to be happy with your purchase.
