Mercury Other 1971 Description
1971 mercury cyclone base, one owner grabber blue(competition blue) Robert Day who runs the registry for these confirmed this is the only grabber blue base 71 cyclone found yet. Pretty cool in itself. Then you've got pretty much any and all paperwork that ever came with the car. Notice on the invoice it says 4 speed then automatic (weird) but this car came with a c6 no doubt. 351 4v auto carThe only thing I DONT have is the ENGINE. Although I know where's it's located in Louisiana. Shop told me they want a grand for the motor . I haven't followed up but do have their contact info.
Have pretty much everything else including the impossible to find wheel mouldings in great condition. I have the original carb, consol, radiator etc.
I do have a set of ginger bucket seats however. I had the original black ones but swapped them for these as the originals were toast.
This car needs a full restoration which include slot of sheetmetal repair. It sat in a lean too in Louisiana outside since 95. It will need its cowl replace, floor pan, a little bit of trunk patching and the tailight panel has some funny rust.
Torque boxe, all frame rails are excellent .Really the tailpanel, floor pans and cowl are by far the worst. It has other small areas but those are easy repairs. Doors pretty darn solid as are rockers and quarters which only have some pin holes towards bottom. Definitely a restorable car.
I can tell you that there is no mud or filler in this car. That I will guarentee, its primer, metal and rust lol.
Grille is just sitting in there at the momen, I also have the original base black door panels. I will add pics of those later.
Quite the fin, would make an excellent addition to any cyclone lovers collector. Please ask questions will meet with you shipper if that's what you want.
My wife still has to get the car titled in her name( Louisiana is a notary state and have been dragging getting it transferred) but we did have it notarized down there and a title will be mailed to winning bidder. Car will come with a bill of sale and a title will be mailed in our name
