This beautiful 1979 Pontiac Formula Firebird is a diamond needing just a little bit of polishing! The car is unrestored BUT a great vehicle to start the process... the original interior is in very good condition, the seats were always covered, and look almost new. The carpet is in very good shape as well. All the pieces are there, including original engine turned dash panel, firebird emblems and even a cassette player.The original 301/automatic transmission are unmodified and have never been out of the car. The engine runs smooth with no smoke or knocking, all emissions are still in place. The automatic transmissionshiftssmoothly, the posi-traction rear-end is quiet. New tires mounted on 80's style rims ride good. The suspension rides tight, no squeaks or annoying rattles. Car is solid throughout, with solid floor pans and trunk pan. The 15 year old IROC blue paint is in good shape, and glows in the sunlight (the original owner was tired of the Sundance Yellow the car came with).
I have the original build sheet (from the dealer, not from behind the seat), GM paint code advisory bulletins, original owners manual and other one a kind info sheets. Clear title is in my name. The car does have a bit of wear, it is 37 years old. The door panels should be replaced, the dash is cracked. Both parts are affordable and easy to get in many locations, even on Ebay.
