Plymouth Satellite 1969 Description

Ever wanted the coolest wagon on the block? Well in 1969 they did not get better than this one. This is a factory H-Code 383 HP 4 Barrel 330 Horse engine R6 red wagon. This was purchased from the original owner about three years ago and I have gone through most of it in the meantime. It has never spent a night out of a garage. This cool wagon is mostly original paint except for the ¼ panel and the driver rear door and is a true survivor. Rocket Restorations in Shelton, ashington professionally buffed out the original paint and it looks great.

The wagon is pretty basic,AM Radio, uggage rack, nd power rear window are the only options. It was custom ordered by the original owner new from the Kruse Car Center in Port Townsend, A and it still has the original license plate frames. The interior has had the carpet, ront seat, nd the switch panel restored. Everything else is original, his car has the best original headliner I have ever seen in a wagon. This was the family's daily driver until they parked it in the garage in 1992. After I bought it Rocket Restorations put it back on the road by putting new tires on it, ebuilding the brakes, nd doing some misc electrical work under the dash. I drove this car from Seattleto Spring Fling in LA then Mopars at the Strip two years ago the last time they were on back to back weekends. The motor was giving me trouble so it was rebuilt after I got home. Didn't even need to bore the motor out, ust honed and we even reused the original pistons. Installed electronic ignition at that time and a new edelbrock carb with electronic choke. Still have the original carb and distributor and theygo with the car. Transmission is still original and the car is all #s matching. I also have a build sheet that came out of the back seat. Also did the front tie rod ends, hocks, nd Firm Feel Rear Leaf Springs when I did the engine.

The body is very solid but the car does have a little rust on the lower legs of the car. While Washington doesn't salt our roads, fter 33 years of daily driving the car has a few nicks and dings but it is a very honest car. As you can see in the underside pics, here is no frame rot on the car at all. It also rust in the usual Wagon places like the spare tire well and the compartment under the rear. Saying that, he tailgate it pretty nice. The rear bumper has some rust but I have two extra bumpers that go with the car. OneI bought as NOS but has surface rust on it, nd the 2nd adriver quality one I picked up at the Spring Fling that would fit in with the patina on the car. I should have taken pics of the floorboards when I had the carpet out because they are mint. You can see no rust from the underside pics.

It was really cool to talk with the original owner of the car. I worked with his Son (who took his driver's test in this car)and that is how I found out the car was for sale. He said the dealer wouldn't let him order a 4-spd (they made 11 of them) and that he only used the luggage rack once in 33 years! You could tell how much the car meant to him and his family.

This car is a beautiful example of a survivor that you won't be afraid to drive anywhere. I have put over 10,000 miles on it since I have had the car and I try to drive it on nice days. H-Code wagons are very rare and this one isn't brown or green!
